1. Strictly necessary
These keep you signed in, protect your session, and guard against cross-site request forgery. They cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in and checkout.
2. Analytics — only if you agree
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which listings and pages perform well, and find broken pages. GA4 does not log or store visitors' IP addresses, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to identify you personally. It does not run until you agree to it. The first time you visit we ask, and until you answer — or if you decline — the Google tag is never loaded onto the page at all, so nothing is measured and nothing is sent. Declining is one click, the same as agreeing, and it does not limit anything you can do on Peacoqs.
3. Maps and places
Listing pages load maps and nearby-places information from our mapping providers. Loading a map tells that provider the area you are looking at and your IP address. This happens only on pages that show a map.
4. Identity verification
If you verify your identity, the check runs inside a secure widget provided by Dojah. That widget sets its own storage on your device to carry you through the steps and to stop a half-finished check from being replayed. It is controlled by Dojah under its own terms, not by us, and it is only present while you are verifying.
5. Mobile push tokens
The mobile app stores a push-notification token on your device so we can deliver booking, payment, application and rent alerts. It is not a cookie and it is not used for tracking. You can revoke it at any time in your phone's notification settings.
6. Local storage
We use your browser's local storage for things that only matter on your own device: draft listings, recent searches, your light or dark theme preference, and your answer to the analytics question so we do not ask again on every page. None of it is sent to us. Clearing your browser data resets them — including your analytics answer, which means we will ask you once more.
7. Changing your mind, and turning things off
On the Peacoqs website, choose Cookie settings in the page footer to change your analytics answer at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing and takes effect immediately: the Google tag stops receiving anything from that moment, and it is not loaded again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in if you do. Browser Do-Not-Track headers are not honoured by Google Analytics, so we do not rely on them and neither should you — use the Cookie settings control instead, which we do honour.
8. Changes
If we add new cookies or trackers, this notice will be updated first and material additions will be flagged in-app.
